The town of Jackson, Wyoming with its old western style boardwalks and charm, hosts a variety of restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, galleries and designer boutiques. The Valley provides outstanding hiking, biking and outside activities along with two mountain resorts: the famous Jackson Hole Mountain Resort and the local Snow King Resort. In the summer, the town is a busy gateway to travelers heading to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks.

For breakfast stop at the Bunnery Bakery & Restaurant in downtown Jackson for delicious freshly baked goods, home cooked breakfast and gourmet coffee. In the evening visit Snake River Brewing Company for award winning micro-brews and dinner.

Jackson Hole Resort & Teton Village

Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, located in the heart of the stunning Tetons, provides an abundance of spectacular hiking, biking and exploring in the summer and skiing in the winter. The resort is located in the exciting Teton Village full of hotels, spas, restaurants and outside activities.

Bike Path & Hiking

Paved bike paths with beautiful scenery loop through the Jackson Hole Valley. The picture to the left is of a pathway heading toward the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort from the town of Jackson. Ride the resort Tram up the mountain for breathtaking scenery and mountain hikes.

Wildlife

You will visit the Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks for the natural beauty and wildlife. Be prepared and respectful of abundant wildlife in Jackson Hole also. It is common to hike and see moose and elk even on the bike trails. Here is a moose I saw at the base of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.

Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks

The town of Jackson is the Gateway to a magnificent National Park adventure! The Grand Teton National Park, in northwestern Wyoming, may be one of the most visually stunning landscapes. You will find yourself in awe of the jagged Tetons, glacier lakes, abundant wildlife and the striking surrounding terrain.

Yellowstone National Park is a wilderness and nature sanctuary that can provide you with a lifetime of special adventures. With its 2.2 million acres, Yellowstone offers sightseers and explorers the famous Old Faithful and hundreds of geysers, hot springs, lakes, rivers, valleys, forests, mountains and diverse wildlife throughout the park.

How would like to spend a vacation in Jamaica and get to explore some of the best adventures? I know there are many adventure lovers out there who only travelers to places which will allow them to experience an abundance of activities. You will be pleased to know that this island is more than a spot for families and romantic couples and it is possible to explore areas which will take you soaring in the skies. It is easy for you to stay at the Jamaica hotels, resorts, villas, cottages or even cabins and spend days which are filled with non-stop fun. Just imagine skydiving and flying over 100 miles per hour at Boscobel Aerodrome in St Mary, definitely a thrilling experience!

Most of the travelers to this island have one aim and that is to have endless fun in the sun. But, there is nothing wrong with wanting to have once-in-a-lifetime adventure trip, as you can find a wide variety of theme vacation packages to have any kind of experience. If you are staying in the resort town of Ocho Rios you can climb the slippery falls at Dunn’s River or enjoy zip lining at the new Mystic Mountain attractions. But, if you want to zip line over one of the beautiful waterfalls on the island, you have to visit the YS Falls in St Elizabeth.

When you are booking reservations for this trip, you have to be carefully with the flights that you are taking especially from the Northern states in America. These are usually long flights and you want to ensure that you have fewer stopovers and not ruin the start of this vacation. The best ways to ensure that you get the best or right flights is to book in advance, so you probably want to check the available flights that American Airlines will have for the Norman Manley or Sangster’s International airports in the two cities.

Another factor that should be given some consideration is securing the best rooms at one of the Jamaica hotels. There is nothing stopping you from staying at one of the all inclusive hotels, because even though they will provide offerings that can keep you onsite for your entire vacation, you would still get the opportunity to explore. Not only will you have everything provided for you, but you could spend your night basking in luxury at Royal Plantation in Ocho Rios after spending long hours climbing the mountains or flying through the forest. Don’t forget to check out the Dolphins Cove in this area as well and swim with the bottleneck dolphins; your children will love this if they are on this trip!

If you want to save significantly more on this trip, you could even check the adventure packages that the all inclusive in Jamaica has to offer before making your reservations. Most times, the resorts will provide a number of activities onsite as well as provide tours that you could take you to a several attractions outside. So, if you examine the packages carefully, you don’t have to pay for an adventure tour that might be already included in the price for your stay.

Some of the adventures that you find on these tours include horseback riding, rafting on the Rio Grande or White River, river tubing, canopy tours or sailing on the catamaran boat rides such as Cool Running’s which will treat you to refreshing red stripe beers and pulsating reggae music. Unquestionably, these adventures will be much fun with a firsthand experience, reading about it cannot fully describe all the adrenalin rush and thrill that is awaiting you.

Cobbled streets, graceful ironwork balconies, flowering plazas and courtyards, and religious art treasures recall Cuenca’s Colonial past. The stunning Andes landscapes, the blend of indigenous and Spanish peoples and cultures, the high artistic quality of local handcrafts and colorful markets are very Ecuadorian. Saint Anne of the Four Rivers of Cuenca, is located in the valley of Guapondelig (plain as wide as the sky). At an altitude of 2,550 meters (7,650 feet) above sea level, Cuenca enjoys a mild climate and a fabulous geographic position. It’s historic downtown area was declared a UNESCO

World Cultural Heritage Site on December 1999, a fitting honor for Ecuador’s most beautiful city. On November 3 Cuenca celebrates the anniversary of its Independence. When the patriots of Cuenca, heard about the Independence of Guayaquil (October 9, 1820), they became enthusiastic to obtain their own independence. So, on November 2, 1820 a group of young patriots, led by Jose Tomas Ordo

Getting There
Colon is located close to the Atlantic entrance of the Panama Canal on the Caribbean Sea shore. It is 50 kilometers from the capital of the country, Panama City, and is connected by road, rail and air. The flight from Panama Canal takes about fifteen minutes only. So you can plan to spend the day in what is also called as the second city of the country and get back to the capital in the evening. You could also consider staying in one of the many hotels here.

A ride on the Panama Railroad is a great idea if you want to get a feel of what it was like to ride on a train on the same railroad during the gold rush. This railroad was the world’s first transcontinental railroad.

History and Culture
The city has a rich and interesting history. And this is what makes it especially interesting for visitors to Panama. This sea port was developed by the Americans during the gold rush and provided them easy access to California. For quite a while the city was referred to as Aspinwall after William Henry Aspinwall, the Panama Railroad promoter. However, the Hispanic community here always referred to it as Colon after Christopher Colombus, whose name was Christopher Colon.

The city has seen a lot of changes over the decades. It has a diverse culture, with the natives mostly Afro-Caribbeans been brought in to work on the railroad. At its peak culture of colon prided itself on its neat and clean image. However with riots in 1885 and 1915, the city and its fabric decayed. Today it struggles to regain its pride and is still an acknowledged tourist destination. It is a good idea for visitors to stick with guided tours that offer a good understanding of the history of the city.

Places to See
The Panama Canal is one of the country’s biggest treasures. At Miraflore Locks you get a great view of the canal. If you decide to stay at a hotel, a tour of the city can be easily organized. Once you are done discovering the city, take a tour to Portobelo. A 40 minute drive brings you to this Heritage Site. The San Lorenzo fort here is worth a visit and is also a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Had enough of history and want to discover the eco-tourism side of this part of the country? Plan a trip to the Portobelo National Park. You will enjoy snorkeling and diving and discovering the reefs here. Bird watchers will particularly be thrilled with their experience of the national park, which is home to many species. You may also opt to go camping, rafting or sport fishing at the Chagres National Park.

For a relaxing afternoon visit the Gatun Locks and dam, watching the ships sail through the Panama Canal. Like most holidays you will want to take home mementoes from Panama. Amongst the things to shop for here include coffee, handicrafts and much more. At Cristobel Pier you can enjoy shopping for crafts at the rather festive market place.

Colon in Panama, is a great place for shopping and has over a thousand stores that offer duty free products. Here you can shop to your heart’s content knowing that you are paying much lesser than you would anywhere else. Many cruises stop here and you may want to end your trip to this city by embarking on a cruise from here.

Los Angeles
Los Angeles has littered the world with its paraphernalia. LA may be a figment of its own imagination, but if you long to stand in the footsteps of stars and breathe their hallowed air, you’ve come to the right place. Starlit and moonstruck, LA beguiles scores of curious tourists, hopeful starlets and wannabe rock musicians each day.

Chicago
Chicago is a city that wears its American heart proudly on its sleeve. The city’s diverse ethnic mix has built a city with an unrivalled tradition of jazz and blues, an astonishing architecture, an appetite for hearty food, award-winning newspapers, universities full of Nobel laureates and some of the most die-hard sports fans you’ll ever meet.

Tokyo
Tokyo is the capital of Japan. At over 12 million people in the official metropolitan area alone, Tokyo shares borders with Chiba prefecture to the east along the Edogawa River, Yamanashi to the west along a mountain range, Kanagawa in the south along the Tamagawa River, and Saitama in the north.

London
London is the capital and largest city of both the United Kingdom and of England, and the largest city in Western Europe. Situated on the River Thames in South-East England, Greater London has an official population of roughly 7.5 million people although the figure of over 14 million for the city’s total metropolitan area more accurately reflects London’s size and importance.

Milan
Milan, located in the northernmost Lombardy region, has had an eclectic history of rulers (Roman, Spanish, Austrian, etc.) due to its proximity to the rest of Europe and is therefore far more independently spirited and multicultural than the southern Italian peninsula.

Hong Kong
Hong Kong is home to over 7 million people. It is a major trading and banking center and has the most liberal economy on the planet. Hong Kong is also a great tourist destination for there are many things to do and see.

Beijing
Beijing is the capital of the most populous country in the world, the People’s Republic of China. It was also the seat of the Ming and Qing dynasty emperors until the formation of a republic in 1911.

Frankfurt
Frankfurt, Germany enjoys the prestige of being known as a major business and economic hub not only for Germany but for Europe as a whole. Frankfurt houses the second largest commercial airport in Europe and is a major hub for train rails.

Las Vegas
Compared with other cities in the West, Las Vegas is a relatively recent arrival. It was founded in 1905, and for many years it was merely a small settlement in the middle of the desert.

Paris
Paris, the cosmopolitan capital of France, is – with 2.2 million people living in zone 1 (Central Paris) and another 9.9 million people in the suburbs (la banlieue) – one of the largest cities in Europe.

If you are planning a trip to Florida for your next vacation, then you will need a good map of the state. There are many places where you can purchase a Florida state road map, such as the internet, a bookstore, gas stations, a travel store, or even Walmart. But not every Florida map or Florida travel book offers the same information.

The main travel information you will need will be how to get from one city to another. The map will show all the major highways and roads, and some maps even give you the driving distance along with approximate driving time, and that might be all you will need for your travel needs.

Let’s say, for instance, you need to drive from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale. By looking at the Florida map, you will see that Interstate 75 takes you all the way from Tampa to Fort Lauderdale, and the driving distance is approximately 273 miles. Taking the interstate is the only feasible option in this case. But say you are driving from Tampa to Pensacola, and in this particular case, taking Interstate 75 northbound appears to go out of your way, and does not look like the best option. But should you decide to follow the coast all the way up to Pensacola from Tampa on Hwy 19 to Hwy 98, you will have to slow down or stop frequently, due to all the small towns you will drive through on the way. This particular route on the Florida state road map could take hours. However, if you take Interstate 75 north from Tampa to Interstate 10 westbound to Pensacola, this would cut your driving time by a good two hours.

By carefully studying the map and taking the time to consider all your driving options, you could save yourself some time and frustration, making your trip much more enjoyable. Another benefit to taking the Interstate when you travel, is you can plan ahead for food or gas stops, and you won’t have to wonder what choices you will have further ahead. Interstate travel will almost always guarantee restaurants along the way. Your Florida state road map will even indicate where the rest areas are, so you won’t have to worry about where the next stop will be, or how long you will have to wait until you reach the next eating establishment.

Don’t plan your next trip to Florida without first purchasing a good map, and taking some time to look over your travel options. An organized plan for your vacation will result in less stress if you map your route in advance, and estimate your time of arrival so there won’t be any surprises on the road that you weren’t expecting.

There isn’t much to hate about a good vacation, but if there’s one thing I despise, it’s boarding the plane back home and realizing that the airplane seat-belt needs to be loosened a bit more than it did on the way there. Preservative filled airplane food, sodium-laden street fare and a daily fruit quota fulfilled by pina coladas can really put a damper on a healthy lifestyle.

In a world of Whole Foods and USDA certified organic labels at nearly every grocery store, it’s easy to choose healthy and organic food at home. Amongst wrinkled maps, foreign languages and packed itineraries, seeking out organic food while traveling presents a whole new challenge. The “I’m on vacation” mentality doesn’t have to mean settling for a fried platter of preservatives or refined sugar that you normally wouldn’t dare touch. Instead, treat yourself to organic, fresh and healthy options because travel is supposed to make you feel free and light, not weighed down and lazy.

What is organic?

Eating organic doesn’t necessarily mean making sacrifices or missing out on your favorite treat. There is such a thing as an organic cheeseburger, after all. Organic foods are those raised without conventional pesticides, petroleum-fertilizers or sewage sludge-based fertilizers. Animals raised organically are fed organic feed and are not given antibiotics or growth hormones, and they are given access to the outdoors (National Organic Program). Sewage sludge-based fertilizer? Who doesn’t mind taking a vacation from that.

Google before you go.

You’re already scouring the internet for the perfect vacation home, least crowded beaches and greatest adventures before you go — so why not throw a little organic knowledge into your vacation plans? What better way to mix with the locals than to seek out an organic farm or farmer’s market? Or, up the complimentary resort coffee to an organic honey latte at a local café. If you are traveling abroad, research what organic means to that particular country. Is there any sort of organic certification? How would you ask about organic produce in the language of that country? Is there an organic brand offered at grocery stores? Any organic restaurants you can try? These are all discoveries you can make with a simple internet search. You’ll be thankful you did before you leave – with internet access, online translation and a familiar keyboard at your fingertips.

I was excited to find out that the trend towards organic food in Panama, although in its infancy, is very much alive. CulantroRojo.com is a startup company that delivers fresh and delicious organic produce to homes in Panama City twice monthly. You could have fresh produce delivered right to your hotel room or Panama vacation home, guaranteeing fresh and healthy snacks all vacation long. The growing expat community in Panama also means that foreign organic standards are finding their way into local stores and restaurants, like Organica in the Paitilla Mall.

Take pride in the re-usable bag.

Just say no to airport and airplane food. It’s fast and therefore furiously preservative filled. Between the changes in time zone and air pressure, air travel already affects your body immensely. The last thing your body needs is to feel bloated and the discomforts of indigestion from less than satisfactory, not to mention un-organic, meals and snacks. Pack a snack pack before your trip, and stash non perishables in your checked baggage for the way home. Fruits, nuts, sandwiches and organic granola bars are all fulfilling options that will get you through the flight and have you feeling good upon arrival. Be sure to finish all fruit and veggies before you land though, bringing produce across borders is usually a huge “no.”

If organic restaurants aren’t prevalent in the area where you are staying, perhaps you can scout out organic produce at a local market. Grab a local bottle of wine and reload that snack bag for an alfresco dinner on the beach. Or perch on your vacation home balcony or a park bench and watch the world go by as you indulge in organic local flavors.

Local doesn’t always mean organic – but it’s a good start.

Unless you are traveling to see if the fries at your favorite chain restaurant taste the same half way across the world, then stay away from mainstream restaurants you could frequent at home. Instead, fulfill your desire to be naturally and culturally stimulated by eating what grows locally. Browse a local market and ask the people there how they grow their produce or raise their animals. If they don’t have an answer, it’s probably a bad sign, however if they mention a farm they are passionate about or pastures where animals can roam, then that is a great first step. In some countries or slightly off-grid destinations, there isn’t access to meat factories or money for expensive pesticides. In fact, in some corners of the world, farming is still being practiced like it has been for centuries – organically. Supporting these efforts while traveling is one of the best ways you could possibly spend your vacation dollars, not to mention that you get a healthy dose of culture, connection and local produce out of the deal.

If you find that the produce in the markets seems to be organic, then the local restaurants might be as well. After all, local restaurateurs probably shop and stock those markets. There might not be glossy advertisements or taglines promoting the organic nature of their cuisine, but if pesticide free produce and grass fed beef is the local standard, then it is organic nonetheless. While figuring out how to say “pesticides” in a foreign language is bound to present some challenges and funny looks, eating local while on vacation can be organic, rewarding and easier than you think.

Seek destinations with sustainability in mind.

For those truly passionate about preserving an organic lifestyle while traveling, there are plenty of sustainable destinations that will take the guesswork out of eating organic while you travel. On Isla Palenque, we have already planted our organic farm, so that by the time our Phase One Panama vacation homes are built in 2012, our organic tropical trees will be bearing fruit. The seedlings will be spread across the island, positioned to lean over the decks of our beachfront homes for an organic snack you can pick yourself. We look forward to supporting local farmers, organic coffee farms and other sustainable suppliers in the area. Whether you decide to dine on the beach, in our restaurants, pool side, on your back deck or even in a private nook halfway across the island, your meal will be fresh, delicious and full of organic flavor. After researching the challenges and benefits of eating organic, we take great pride in offering an organic and sustainable vacation home and resort option in Panama.

For seeking out natural attractions, farmers markets, natural and organic restaurants in other parts of the world, browse OrganicTravel.com. The international listings are a little sparse, but the list is sure to expand over time.

There may be no holiday that comes close to the experience you can have with Panama Canal cruises.

It is not only the fastest way to get from the Atlantic Ocean through the Caribbean to the Pacific Ocean, it is also the most scenic and by far the most exciting. The Panama Canal is one of the greatest achievements of engineering in the world through which millions of ships have passed. It took over 400 years to complete this amazing project and 100 years after its completion it is one of the most important trade routes in the world.

On a cruise through the Panama Canal you can not only learn about what happened through the years of its construction but you will also have access to some of the best cruise ports of call anywhere. With its amazing rainforests, unique and abundant wildlife, and beautiful white-sand beaches, the Panama Canal and its destinations provide everything you need for a memorable cruise holiday.

It takes nine hours to pass through the Canal with the help of locks that control the level of the water by forming a 51-mile bridge of water. You can marvel as your cruise ship is lifted up in the Caribbean Sea and then lowered again to pass into the Pacific. You cross the Isthmus of Panama and through the Continental Divide.

Some of the unique ports of call on Panama Canal cruises include:

· Cartagena, Colombia – This is one of Latin America’s prettiest cities with dozens of photo opportunities like the cobbled streets and balconies covered with bougainvillea. It also has one of the best beaches in the area, Playa Blanca.

· Colon, Panama – This is the capital of the province of Colon on the central coast of the Caribbean and the entire area is steeped in history and tradition. The one thing not to miss on a port of call here is the Gatun Locks. Here, you can be amazed as huge ships and tankers are raised 85 feet to the level of Lake Gatun.

· Puntarenas, Costa Rica – This port offers some of the highest mountain peaks in Costa Rica and beautiful tropical jungles. One of the most popular shore excursions here is a horseback ride the Valley of the Monkeys.

Other ports on Panama Canal cruises include Guatemala’s largest Pacific Ocean port; Acapulco, Mexico; and George Town in the Grand Caymans.

Some of the cruise lines that visit the Panama Canal include Royal Caribbean, Holland America, Princess, Celebrity, Norwegian, Seabourn, and Silversea. There are multiple possible ports from which these cruises depart and they typically end at a different port. An example is a Princess cruise that begins in Tampa, Florida and ends in San Diego, California.

Why should you visit St. John Virgin Island? For one thing, it lies in the Caribbean — an area seasoned with a dash of history, a pinch of luxury and sufficient charisma for you to relish for a lifetime. The natural beauty of the island and the prosperity of the local populace earned it the designation “Beverly Hills of the Caribbean.” It’s the place where night swoops in on the back of emblazoned sunsets, and clouds roll and billow in the tropical breeze.

Arawak Indians who came from the areas of Venezuela and Columbia first settled the St. Johns Virgin Islands. Danish Europeans later moved to the island, and sugar plantations began to spring up. The United States purchased St. John Virgin Island and two other islands from the Danes in 1917. Together, the three islands are known as the United States Virgin Islands. The islands were of strategic importance to the United States due to their proximity to the entry of the Panama Canal. The United States also feared that if it did not control the islands, the Germans might conquer them to set up U-boat bases that would threaten World War I shipping.

St Johns USVI is an experience you don’t want to rush. If you plan to visit St. John, allot sufficient time to comprehend its charm. Whichever adjectives you seek during the vacation of a lifetime, you can find at St. John Virgin Island — adjectives from ablaze to zany, and all the dashing, fantastic, panoramic and yummy ones in between.

Love to camp? Camping is an excellent way to save money and be close to nature. Whether you like to rough it or camp in sumptuousness, there are two campgrounds at the US Virgin Islands National Park. St. John’s campgrounds meet the strict Virgin Islands National Park standards for maintenance and cleanliness. You can choose from the Cinnamon Bay Campground, or the Maho Bay Campground. Cinnamon Bay offers a place for you to pitch your own tent, use one of the campgrounds’ own eco-tent platforms, or rent a cottage. Maho Bay provides nice-sized tent cottages for your camping pleasure.

St. John Virgin Island water activities give you a lot of room to wiggle. Whether your passion is kayaking, snorkeling, windsurfing, scuba diving, boating, fishing, turtle watching, boat touring, or just lounging on one of its posh beaches, there are pristine marvels on every side awaiting your discovery.

Of course, you can stay indoors all day if you like, but what’s the use of making the trek to St. Johns USVI if you don’t get out and about? In addition to the numerous beaches and bays, there are plenty of island activities on land too. The Pastory Gardens is a popular botanical garden located on a hill with a nice view of St. Thomas. It also has an open-air restaurant and an 18-hole miniature golf course. For the history buff, there are interesting sites such as the Annaberg Sugar Plantation Ruins, the Elaine Lone Sprauve Library and Museum, the Peace Hill Ruins, and The Reef Bay Trail too see and explore.

There are many available historical and island tours available. You can even take tours by aircraft or by horseback. So make plans now to visit St. John Virgin Island. It’s one amazing adventure you will never forget.
